Using Ledger
Ledger hardware wallets are considered to be one of the most secure ways to store a variety of digital assets, including PEN.
This guide provides detailed instructions on how to interact with the Pendulum Ledger App.
Requirements
Update Ledger Live through the notification banner or download the latest version.
Update the firmware on your Ledger Nano S / Nano S Plus / Nano X.
How to install Pendulum app
Launch Ledger Live(https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live) on your device
Go to the Ledger device
Choose Pendulum app and press install
How to connect Ledger to wallet
Ensure your Ledger Device is connected and unlocked
Open the Pendulum app on the Ledger device
Once open, the Ledger device will show “Pendulum ready”
Open the polkadot.js extension in your browser
Click the “+” icon and select from the dropdown “Connect Ledger device”
Select “Pendulum chain” from the network dropdown options
Provide a name for the account and click “Import account”
View account balance
Open polkadot.js.org
Connect the imported Ledger account to the website.
From the top left dropdown, select “Pendulum chain”
Navigate to Accounts in the top menu Accounts, then select Accounts again
You will be able to see the Account here with the balance of the account
How to send PEN
Ensure you are on the Pendulum network, as previously selected
Navigate to polkadot.js.org
Navigate to Accounts from the top menu, then choose Transfer
In the "Send from account" dropdown, select the connected Ledger account
Enter the recipient's address in the "Send to address" field
Input the amount of PEN you want to send and click Make transfer.
In the confirmation pop-up click sign and submit
A second pop-up will appear, asking to “Sign on Ledger”
After clicking it you can view all the details in the Ledger device, such as the destination address and the option to approve the transaction
If the transaction is succesfull you will see a green dailog box on the polkadot.js.org website stating the transaction was successful.
